Position Overview:
The Disability Collective is seeking an experienced and highly organized Stage Manager / Tour Manager for our upcoming tour of Dial 1 for UK. This role combines traditional stage management responsibilities with tour coordination, supporting both the artistic integrity of the production and the logistical needs of a multi-city tour.
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a smooth, accessible, and supportive environment for a diverse company of artists and collaborators.
Contract Schedule:
Prep: September 8
Rehearsals (Toronto): September 9–11
Performances:
Toronto: September 12–16
Calgary: September 18–20
Vancouver: September 24–27
Key Responsibilities:

Stage Management
-
Lead all stage management duties during rehearsals and performances
-
Run rehearsals, call cues, and maintain the prompt book
-
Coordinate daily schedules in collaboration with the creative and production teams
-
Facilitate clear communication between cast, crew, and creative team
-
Support accessible rehearsal and performance practices (e.g., integration of ASL, relaxed performance needs, etc.)
-
Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive working environment
-

Tour Management
-
Oversee day-to-day tour logistics across all cities
-
Act as the primary liaison between The Disability Collective and presenting venues
-
Coordinate travel schedules, accommodations, and daily itineraries
-
Manage company needs on the road, including accessibility accommodations

Distribute per diems and track tour-related expenses as required
-
Troubleshoot and problem-solve in real time during travel and performances
-
Qualifications:
-
Previous experience as a Stage Manager, ideally with touring productions

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
-
Experience working in disability-led, Deaf-led, or accessible theatre environments is a strong asset

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Calm, flexible, and solution-oriented approach

Availability for the full contract period, including travel

Working closely with the Producer and broader TDC team, the Production Coordinator will play a central role in coordinating logistics, technical needs, and on-site execution. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in live event environments, is highly organized, and is committed to accessibility and disability-led work.
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 – 30 at the start time of employment, and are a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person under refugee protection with a valid SIN.
Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Coordination

Work alongside the Producer to oversee planning, scheduling, and logistics for The Disability Arts Festival

Develop and maintain production schedules, run-of-show documents, and logistics plans

Coordinate communication between artists, vendors, and the TDC team to ensure smooth execution

Technical & Site Logistics
-
Coordinate technical requirements for venues and events, including power, staging, and layout needs

Arrange rentals (e.g., staging, tents, tables, chairs, and accessible infrastructure such as ramps, seating, and signage)

Oversee delivery, setup, and strike of all production elements

Event Execution
-
Provide day-of event support, including artist and vendor care, troubleshooting, and coordination
-
Oversee load-in and load-out processes to ensure efficiency and accessibility
-
Support technical setup and ensure all elements are functioning as required

Team & Volunteer Coordination

Oversee volunteer coordination, including scheduling, task assignment, and on-site supervision

Act as a key point of contact for volunteers during events

Support a collaborative and accessible working environment for all team members

Organizational Support

Act as a key support to the TDC team throughout each event

Assist with problem-solving and adapting plans in real time to meet access needs and logistical challenges

Qualifications:

As part of the requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs program, the applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements, at minimum:

Is between the ages of 18 – 30 at the start time of employment

Is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment

Has a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and is legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations in Ontario

Experience in event production, stage management, or festival coordination (preferably in arts or community-based contexts)

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple moving parts

Experience coordinating logistics, rentals, and technical requirements for live events

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in fast-paced environments

Experience working with or supervising volunteers

Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings leading up to The Disability Arts Festival and the weekend of The Disability Arts Festival

Knowledge of and commitment to disability justice, accessibility, and inclusive event practices

Ability to lift and move light equipment and support physical aspects of event setup (with accommodations as needed) is an asset, but not required

Valid Class G driver’s license with comfort driving a large (9-foot) cargo van is an asset, but not required

The Disability Collective is seeking a highly organized and strategic Development Strategy Coordinator for an 8-week contract to support the creation of a comprehensive development plan and strengthen our fundraising infrastructure.
Working closely with the Artistic Director and leadership team, the Development Strategy Coordinator will assess current fundraising practices, identify new opportunities, and develop a clear, actionable roadmap for revenue generation. This role will also provide hands-on support with grant writing, prospect research, and fundraising planning during a key period of organizational growth.
This position is ideal for someone with strong writing skills, experience in arts or nonprofit development, and an interest in contributing to disability-led cultural work.
